FAQ 1

What will an average day be like?

Each day at camp will be slightly different than the next, but generally each morning will include a main session, small groups, and an organized activity. Some mornings the activity might be recreational, others might be more educational or spiritual. After lunch, most days will be free time until dinner, while others may include an organized activity. After dinner there will be another main session, small groups and an evening activity or snack. See Schedule on website.

FAQ 2

Is there a set student/adult ratio? What kind of supervision will there be? How do you keep track of students?

Laguna Beach Christian Retreat requires us to have at least one leader per 10 students, however we aim for closer to 1 to 5. This is as much for supervision as it is for relationships and mentoring. Leaders have keys for rooms they are in charge of and do random checks during the evening to make sure students are in their rooms when they’re supposed to be. During the day there are boundaries that students are to stay in on the beach. Each student is given an HSBC bracelet to wear at all times to help us identify who is with High School Beach Camp.

FAQ 3

What does the price include?

The price includes transportation, 3 nights at Laguna Beach Christian Retreat, 10 meals at camp, program materials, and some camp swag (t-shirt, bag, etc.).

The deposit in non-refundable at any point. The full price is non-refundable after May 31. You can put a deposit down of $125 to reserve your spot. Final payment is due by May 31

FAQ 5

What ages attend High School Beach Camp?

Incoming high school freshmen through graduated seniors.

FAQ 6

What do sleeping arrangements look like? How do you determine rooming assignments?

There are two types of rooms at High School Beach Camp. One is a dormitory style room with several bunk beds and one large bathroom with multiple stalls and showers. The other is hotel style rooms with two double beds and 2 sets of bunk beds. These rooms each have their own bathroom with 2 showers and a toilet as well as a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, and sink. Rooms are assigned according to the small group your student is in. We do take roommate requests, and are able to accommodate those most of the time.
